Equinix IBX centers lead the industry for physical security, power availability, infrastructure flexibility and customer support, exceeding the standards set by global Internet brands and leading enterprises. This means larger facilities, all the top networks, a robust power architecture, unrivaled security and more options than any traditional data center facility. Equinix datacenter features a state-of-art security system including 5 layers of biometrics palm scanners to enter and leave the facility, over 600 video cameras with 30 day digital recording, along with kevlar floors and walls. In addition our customers have peace of mind knowing that in the event of any local power shortages, Equinix offers N+1 Redundant UPS Systems backed up by 6 250 kW Onan/Cummins diesel generators with 36 hours of fuel will make sure their websites remain live. Some of the benefits of Equinix IBX center include: Quality: Equinix IBX design has become the industry standard for quality among colocation/data centers. Equinix has built the most reliable facilities and maintains the most rigorous ongoing maintenance routine in the industry. Our greater than 99.999% uptime speaks for itself. Connectivity: Our 100% fiber optic network is completely fault-tolerant and redundant. We currently utilize the following transit carriers: Level3, AT&T, Saavis, UUNET, Roger Cable, and Telia, as well as a diverse mix of local (in facility) peering with most major networks. This mix of transit and peering provides us unique connectivity to the Internet, and each connection is used for its best routes. We maintain a minimum of 3000 MB/sec capacity to each of our upstream providers over diverse, interconnected locations. Through the design and implementation of our network, we offer the reliability, performance, and scalability required to maintain 99.9% uptime. Route Optimization: BGP4 (Border Gate Protocol) technology allows the traffic to your site to travel more efficiently by finding the best route for data to travel. On a typical server the traffic always takes the same route from client to server. BGP protocol repeatedly locates the most efficient path between client and server.
